With all the commotion across the social hemisphere about which dancehall artist should be considered as "king of the dancehall", I am going to declare

Anyone except damn yellowman!

The fact is the so-called crown is not everlasting. The yellowman had his dominance way back in the 1970s, and the reality is that many other power artists have risen and fell since the man with very limited lyrical abilities was hailed as "king", and primarily out of pity for his albino condition. The pity party folks simply wanted to be politically correct and jumped on the wagon, and currently their call for the yellow is entirely based again in damn pity and nothing logical or factual. Quit it!

That said, Beenieman is way more significant to the genre than the convicted killer vybz kartel who simply achieved appeal due to social media and shitloads of folks he supported and had risen to now stand by him. Heck, Beenie even produced a track called "king of the dancehall" and it is still a hit. Ain't no goddamn body today listens to all the crap delivered by yellowman!

Bring it!
